This patient's surgeon inserted her implants through a periareolar incision. This incision is created just below the areola, along the edge of the darker areola tissue where it meets normal breast skin. Her surgeon then inserted two 453cc cohesive silicone-gel implants, which contain a soft gel that maintains its shape better than either saline or non-cohesive silicone. This stability helps prevent the kind of "rippling" or folding of the implant shell that sometimes happens with saline implants.
